This four minute clip shows what Tai Chi push hands can accomplish. This is from Ang Lee's Pushing Hands movie (1999). It is a wonderful movie about culture, family and Tai Chi. We often tell students that Tai Chi can be applied in everyday life. You may not want to push around your co-workers but you probably would like the confidence to stand your ground. The confidence is gained by repeating simple movements slowly. This is done externally first and then internally. Eventually your body, mind and spirit are united into one piece. It's a process, a very personal and enjoyable one.
