Falling for Tai Chi- a way to improve balance.

From when you first entry the school we focus on improving balance.  How? First you learn to slow down.  Second you learn to stand still doing "hug a tree".  While you do this your legs become stronger.   We say you build your root.  Next the special "little fan, big fan" exercises help you to take small steps towards a better balance.   Other routines like brush knee and push help you to discover your center of gravity.   By the time you start doing the form you're well on you way to increasing your balance.  Eventually you'll send on one leg for 5 minutes- like it is the most natural thing in the world.   The long form with over 103 moves helps too.
