The Tai Chi Ruler is a method of exercises used to cultivate and nourish the mind and body. This method has been handed down from the teachings of the Ancient Chinese. It is used for healing and sharpening awareness by massaging the body to stimulate the nervous system. Massage like-pressure is applied to the acupuncture points to stimulate the nervous system of the whole body thereby relieving pain and disease.

The three important lines of energy stimulated by Tai Chi Ruler are the sole of the foot, the palm of the hand and the back of the body. These three lines of energy were known in all ancient cultures. They contain man’s most essential energies that can be utilized equally for healing and for development. The Tai Chi Rule brings in energy to free these tensions and blocks and restores the life flow, harmony, and well-being.

About Alvin Fayman:

I began studying tai chi with C.K. Chu a the Tai Chi Chuan Center of New York, where I met Mr. Chan and eventually joined his chi kung class. Later I studied tai chi big knife and the basics of pa kua chang with him as well as tai chi ruler, the basics of hsing-i chuan and i-chuan standing meditation, and eight immortals (Shaolin) sword.

I have concentrated on chi kung (especially the ruler) and Yang style tai chi, though Mr. Chan introduced me to other styles as well. He also shared with me his push hands, da liu, and san sou (two-man empty-hand set).

My chi kung training encompasses the 10 Taoist exercises, 8 brocades, 8 chi kung exercises, zhan zhuang standing meditation, 6 healing sounds, ligament stretching, i chin ching, 5 animals play, reverse breathing, and an assortment of healing and meditative exercises.
